Bring Play Back Into Work.
Work is not meant to be hard. When we do what we love we enjoy ourselves. There is ease & fun, and the occasional sweat & tears.
Show Me The Money!
Money and recognition matter. A job becomes a calling, when we work for the sake of it, not just for the external gains. This allows us to transcend the “little me” and work for something greater than ourselves. Once we collaborate with people who share our values and vision our work becomes meaningful and fulfilling.
Often we don’t know where to begin or how to translate doing what we love into a profession. Its a stretch going from loving food to owning a restaurant, from being creative with make-up to working as a make-up artist, from writing to being a published author. It requires persistence and an investment of time, energy and money.
Once we identify our gift and invest in the skills required to excel we gain clarity. Then our goals and passion become the fuel and doors will open. This is inherently satisfying because it meets our need for autonomy, relatedness and competence.
You Are Powerful!
Growing up, few people have truly been supported in stepping in to their power. Therefore few of us know how to be in our power with others. We give up our authority or rebel against it, or we may compromise our integrity and grab power. Hierarchy, racial or sex discrimination often create power dynamics where one person has power over another and consciously or unconsciously tries to control the other. Such a dynamic can cause us to stay small, hide, give up our voice, or give up entirely. This dynamic can also cause blatant abuse of power where one person acts as the perpetrator and the other as the victim.
To be in our authority and embody our power we must become all of who we are. This requires the process of self-transformation. Core Energetics breaks this process down into four stages: letting go of the mask, the adapted self we created to fit in, transforming the lower self, the part of us that is at the root of self-sabotage, embodying our higher self, the personal expression of our divinity. This allows us to navigate power with others, and fulfill our life task, the thing we came here to do, not only on a personal but also on a professional level.
“I came to get help with my marriage & realized what I really needed was to quit my job. With my partner’s support I summoned up the courage to follow my heart. Happiness truly is an inside job!”
